Housing one of the most iconic buildings, the Bidwell Mansion State Historic Park is a must-visit. The three-story, 26-room Victorian House Museum showcases the lives of John and Annie Bidwell, there’s a nearly 90-foot-tall ginkgo tree that’s been growing since 1848—truly stunning in the fall—and it’s all situated along Chico’s beautiful Esplanade. Sitting right next to the CSU Chico campus, just a stone’s throw from Downtown Chico’s restaurants and shopping, it’s also easy to work into any existing outing.
